Punjab CM Maryam Nawaz Launches Free 3-Marla Plot Scheme for Underprivileged Families
Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has announced a groundbreaking initiative aimed at providing free three marla plots to deserving and underprivileged individuals. This scheme, a part of the Maskan-e-Ravi ‘Zahra Homes’ project, was inaugurated by the Chief Minister in Kala Shah Kaku, as reported by Express News.
Maskan-e-Ravi ‘Zahra Homes’ Initiative
During the launch event, Maryam Nawaz personally visited the Maskan Ravi site and thoroughly inspected the newly constructed homes. She handed over allotment letters and keys to 100 families, expressing her satisfaction with the quality and amenities provided in the Maskan-e-Ravi ‘Zahra Homes’.
Key Features of Zahra Homes
Each house in Zahra Homes is 400 square feet and comprises two bedrooms, a kitchen, a bathroom, and a courtyard. Built using TREND EPS Smart Panel Technology, these homes are designed to be earthquake-resistant, energy-efficient, and environmentally sustainable. Additionally, a 5 kW solar system powers each house, ensuring energy sustainability.
Community Amenities
The Maskan Ravi Housing Scheme is not just about housing; it aims to build a complete community. The project includes essential amenities such as:
- An RO plant for clean water supply
- A school for educational needs
- A playground for children
- A mosque for spiritual activities
- A dispensary for basic healthcare
Collaboration and Future Plans
The Maskan Ravi Housing Scheme is a joint venture between the Ravi Urban Development Authority (RUDA) and EPS Solutions Pakistan. During the event, a documentary showcasing the services and projects of PML-N President Nawaz Sharif was also presented.
Expansion of Housing Initiatives
In addition to the Zahra Homes project, the Punjab government has approved Rs62 billion for the ‘Apni Chhat Apna Ghar’ program. This initiative aims to provide loans to 40,000 individuals by May, with 5,000 residents already benefiting from the program. Over 4,200 houses are nearing completion under this scheme.
The Chief Minister has directed officials to expedite the loan disbursement process and consider increasing the loan amounts from Rs1.5 million to Rs2 million.
Boosting Punjab’s Sectors
Progress in agriculture, energy, and industry sectors was discussed in a separate review meeting chaired by Senior Provincial Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb. To further enhance agricultural development, the Chief Minister has ordered the allocation of additional resources to speed up the distribution of tractors and farming equipment. By February 28, an additional 2,000 superseders will be provided to farmers at discounted rates.
Conclusion
The free 3-marla plot scheme under the Maskan-e-Ravi ‘Zahra Homes’ initiative marks a significant step towards improving the living conditions of underprivileged families in Punjab. With a focus on sustainability and community development, the Punjab government, under the leadership of Maryam Nawaz, continues to take strides in transforming the region’s housing landscape.
